Bowie song of the week – 3

This is my favourite of Bowie’s covers. Originally recorded by the Pixies in 1988. The song appeared on his 2002 album Heather. I was lucky enough to see him perform this live on his A Reality Tour and Heathen Tour. On the original, the Pixies spell out P-I-X-I-E-S and on Bowie’s version you can hear D-A-V-I-D. I’m embarrassed to say it wasn’t until only a couple of years ago that I realised they were spelling out him name in the backing vocals.

Favourite Line: So spill your breakfast, and drip your wine. Just wear that dress when you dine
